A possible Solution for Newsmax plus login not being sticky is being
tested and working so far for me. In options to login will be shown
selections to login using your email for usual Roku login or to use
a different email. So select the option to *use a different email*
but then enter the email used for your Newsmax plus subscription
and fill in the password associated with your Newsmax plus subscription.
So far for the brief time of testing I have done this makes the login
sticky. It is not prompting for login after closing the app and/or
returning to the Home menu thumbnails and using another app
like Amazon Prime, not prompting for another login. If it does
prompt for another login I am hopeful it will return to the option
to login using the default email login for Roku, but again choose
the use a different email to get the saved password for the
alternate email. In my case it is the same email as for Roku.
but of course the Newsmax plus app password is different.
I am hopeful this is the fix for the non-sticky password issue.
Solution is confirmed as fix for the login not sticky issue for Newsmax Plus app
The issue with the timeout or login not being sticky has a solution.
On the login options you are offered to use your email for Roku
login or to use a different email, so the solution is to select to
use a different email (even if it is the same as your email for Roku)
and enter or reenter the email associated with your Newsmax Plus
subscription and then enter the password for the Newsmax Plus.
The credentials for Newsmax plus will remain sticky if entered
into the app by this path. Entering the password in different
places will allow the Newsmax plus app to open but the login
will only stay in effect so long as you are using the app and
the login is not sticky when entered in different places like
Accounts. Other paths for a login are not sticky and the
login will automatically logout or timeout if you switch to
a different channel and try to come back to Newsmax Plus.
But if you use this specific path to enter your credentials for
Newsmax Plus subscription associated email and password
then app will remember your login and not prompt you
every time you leave the app and return to it again.
This is a confirmed SOLUTION for the login not sticky issue.
This solution was found by a process of elimination meaning
I tried everything else following customer support instructions
from Newsmax tech support that did not include this detail
about the needed path to enter email and password credentials
so that the app login will be sticky and not prompt the user
for a new login every time the app is closed and reopened.
The login credentials are path sensitive. So other paths to login
allow login for one session only but are not saved for a new session.

I have been using this path for the Newsmax Plus app, but the login still does not stick. I wish there was an option to save login!
Try the reported path again. Mine has dropped out once since the Possible Fix
was posted, and I followed the same path again and the app has been stable since.
I deliberately leave the app by returning to the Home menu of thumbnails so
there is no bandwidth being used when no one is watching. When the app
thumbnail is again selected and opened it is the usual response the app
first opens to a way point screen and then a second click opens it normally
with no prompt for credentials. So the fix has been holding stable for me
as a confirmed solution. It could be a Roku model related issue where
the path is not working. My unit is a Roku Ultra LT and is working fine.
Every few days I have to sign in again. App apparently doesn't remember my sign in credentials.
This seems to explain the standard and obvious way to answer the challenge when trying to login using the Roku (Ultra for me) streamer. If so, I have followed this obvious path and IT DOES NOT remain sticky. I have updated the App. Called Newsmax (uninformed response) and the problem (non-sticky is persistent). It seems that there should be a check-box next to the login/passsword that say: "Save these Credentials?"
For the first couple of weeks of having Newsmax Plus I was not getting signed out. Now every night when I go to watch Rob it takes about 10 minutes to get Newsmax to load and then I have to put my email and password in again. I am using the option to use a different email other then my Roku. It's getting very frustrating! All the other apps I have on Roku work fine.
Yes the solution which worked for awhile has proven over time to not
be a permanent fix. There is evidently an automatic log out that occurs
when the app is unused for an extended time. When I go back to the
NewsMax app after watching a movie it seems to work fine without
prompting for a password. But if I close out the NewsMax app and
leave it closed overnight with just the Roku thumbnails menu showing
and the Roku goes to screen saver, then it is a coin toss if NewsMax
will open again or if it shows it logged out and requires again the
password. So the NewsMax app definitely needs an update to fix
the problem.
Continuing to have problems with Newsmax+ logging me out every few days. No problems logging in - I have tried all of the recommended approaches, including the Newsmax+ FAQ which instructs to login through Account Settings in the Newsmax app instead of the Roku login screen - no effect. It also seems to make no difference whether I simply close the app or exit by backing out to the “Exit” prompt - about every three days, I find that that I have been logged out of the app.
I’ve contacted Newsmax several times regarding this issue and have received no response. It’s becoming very annoying - to the point where I’m considering canceling my monthly subscription. This has been a fundamental problem since the app was launched 5 weeks ago - they’ve had plenty of time to address it.
