It would be awesome to be able have all roku device to be able to get local channels from antenna on any tv. Not just Roku Tv's.
Hi, @Todd69.
Greetings from the Roku Community!
We appreciate you sharing your suggestion with us. We'd be happy to provide further information about this.
The Roku streaming device doesn't have the capability to receive an antenna input, as it requires different HDMI inputs to be plugged into a TV separately. However, a Roku TV has a built-in antenna input, which can receive OTA Live TV channels.
No worries! You may still be able to stream a Live TV channel on your Roku streaming device.
We hope you find this information helpful.
Best regards,
Carly
@Todd69 This would require a tuner in all Roku devices which would add to cost. I don't think any streaming device on the market has this capability. Just change the input to antenna on the TV the Roku device is connected to.
I would have been better off buying Tablo.
Then get one! There’s nothing mutually exclusive about OTA and streaming. Or for that matter cable, satellite, Blu-Ray etc. You can have as few or as many sources of video entertainment as you like.
Even if Roku were to add an antenna input, Rokus aren’t DVRs so such a Roku would have about the same capability that your TV already has.
