If internet is down will Roku continue to work with Tablo local stations?

If internet is down will Roku continue to work with Tablo local stations?

Our internet sometimes fails. When it fails, it is usually down for an extended period. I am planning on installing a digital antenna and Tablo to record local stations.  Will Roku still stream those locals to my tv's during an internet outage?  thanks!

Re: If internet is down will Roku continue to work with Tablo local stations?

Hi, @OCNC

Greetings and welcome to the Roku Community.

We appreciate you posting an inquiry here. Local Over-The-Air (OTA) Channels allow you to watch local broadcast channels like ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, and more without the need for an internet connection. To set up local OTA channels on your Roku, you will need an OTA antenna capable of receiving television signals in your area.

We hope this clarifies your inquiry,

All the best,
Kash

Sorry no.

The question is whether Roku will still stream to my tv's  (the OTA feed from Tablo) if the internet is down.

thanks.

Thanks for clarifying, @OCNC!

You can't stream OTA channels if your internet is down. You still need to have internet for you to stream all of the apps and channels, including OTA channels on the Roku platform. We hope this clears everything out.

Let us know if you need further clarification, or feel free to create a new thread for different concerns.

Kind regards,
Carly

Re: If internet is down will Roku continue to work with Tablo local stations?

I'm not familiar with Tablo, but I do have a Silicon Dust network tuner attached to my home network. I would expect it to work fine if the Internet was down, but I wouldn't be surprised if the show information isn't available. That will depend on if the Tablo receives the channel information from the datastream provided by the OTA channel (which has some data but not comprehensive) or if it downloads the information from the Internet.
