I have 3 fake Hikvision cameras that work great in IP Camera Viewer pro on my Roku.
I am trying to set up a ESP32 cam, but it will not let me enter the correct settings.
Entering the IP and port 81 is not a problem but I also need /stream in the stream url.
For some reason it will not accept /stream.
Note that these cameras work in my Blue Iris security software and I can view them in a browser, so it is not the camera itself that is the problem.
The settings url needs to be this in order to work
192.168.1.123:81/stream
@ioanmay be able to help if he's still around.
Did you ever figure out how to use your hikvision cameras with this? I've yet to find a way. I have the real ones but they should be similar in terms of config for this app.
Hi, yes it works with my fake Hikvision cameras.
I have two fake Hikvision IP camera's set up in the program.
I never got the ESP32 cam's to work though.
Looking back at my original post, it looks like I could not set up the ESP32 cams because I could not enter /stream as part of the config
Are you having trouble with the Hikvision cams or ESP32 cams?
My post was about not being able to set up ESP32 cams
I took a image of one of my Hikvision cam setups on my TV
Yes, I was actually asking about the hikvision cams and if you could share your settings.
I've not had any luck with any cameras what so ever.
I could if I could upload a screen shot image
But I don't see a upload attachment button anywhere
All that's really needed to share is the port and the url. The other things are obvious like username/pass.
Thanks.
I don't remember everything I had to do to get my two fake Hikvision's working
But I don't remember having any issues
Looking at the screen shot I took yesterday and what I have set up
Camera name and description
IP address - There is a discover button, not sure if I used that?
I have both cameras set up with fixed IP addresses in the camera config and I know the IP addresses
TCP port - 80
Login and password
Not sure what else I had to do. but I am able to view both cameras on my Roku/TV
The only setting I'd like to know are the 'TCP Port' and the 'Stream URL'. No other info is needed.
Those two items might let me use my cameras like you can :).
TCP 80
Stream url is a long string that I know I did not enter all that
I am guessing that was found once I entered the IP and TCP port?
stream starts with /api/mjpegvideo.cgi? and a many more characters after that
