Re: IP Camera Viewer Basic and Pro, fresh out of the oven (ONVIF, RTSP coming soon)

No.  The Roku itself does not support RTSP.  No software or app can make native RTSP work unless Roku adds that feature to the device itself.  This is not a limitation of IP Camera Viewer, this is a limitation of the Roku.

Is there a setting for a FOSCAM HT2? I have mirrored my F2C with correct settings for my HT2 but it doesn’t connect!

Excellent work man.

I had to dig a lot to find the application though:

The configuration is awful though 🙂

Did you consider to just publish different versions preconfigured for each model?
That would be much easier to market around  and simplify a lot more the user flow.

Re: IP Camera Viewer Basic and Pro, fresh out of the oven (ONVIF, RTSP coming soon)

Did you manage to get RSTP works?

Now that Roku have embraced Wyze hardware is just matter of time before somebody will enable RSTP on those camera too.

I can't believe Roku got into HomeAutomation and ignored completely the integration with RokuTV and boxes...🤔

I wasn't able to configure my wyze/RSTP camera:

rtsp://admin:Password@192.168.1.148/live

Any idea?

Re: IP Camera Viewer Basic and Pro, fresh out of the oven (ONVIF, RTSP coming soon)

@Cheeroip The application only works with jpeg encoded rtsp streams and those almost always are available by configuring the camera using ONVIF. If after ONVIF configuration you do not have the option to select a RTSP stream, that means that your camera only provides h264 streams. To make it work with h264 rtsp, see here (you'll need extra hardware):

Yeah, I'm not going to do any of that 🙂
I don't have any idea about what are you talking about:

ONVIF? H264? companies don't usually share those specifications.

Wyze Camera have RTSP.
Roku Home Automation use Wyze camera (well, at least same hardware and the Roku App look exactly like the Wyze app so I guess they have some kind of partnership).

Let me know if you or somebody else is able to connect those and how configure them.

Those are $30 cam. Seem would be a great market to tag for your app (even without considering that could potentially be the only way to watch Roku cam on a Roku TV LOL)...

@Cheeroip

The new Roku Smart Home cameras can be viewed through your Roku devices and RokuTVs.  During setup of the cameras with the SmartHome app, you can install the Roku Smart Home - Cameras channel.

Allows you to view Livestreams only currently.

Re: IP Camera Viewer Basic and Pro, fresh out of the oven (ONVIF, RTSP coming soon)

Excellent.

https://www.roku.com/mobile-app/smart-home

The website didn't mention any integration with ROKU stuff and I couldn't find the app on the box (the search isn't exactly the best feature of the UI experience).

I wonder what is the problem with the IPCameraViewer app and RSTP. I think the same developer have the app running on the FireTV and there the RSTP is supported.

I don't think the official ROKU app on the box will support local access to the Camera like this app would have be.
I'm surprise they decided to go with a separated camera ROKU OS app instead of trying to keep the whole Home Automation thing together (plugs/lights/webcam)
I guess somebody up the chain of command rushed the Wyze deal and now they just have to deal with it.

I doubt they will support (if they are even aware that exist) the RSTP firmware.

Re: IP Camera Viewer Basic and Pro, fresh out of the oven (ONVIF, RTSP coming soon)

THE IPCAMERA VIEWER could take some inspiration from it and use the QRCODE approach to configure the application (using ECP commands instead of the whole cloud/server thing)
