@Ruthann when the problem only appears on a single app/channel, then the problem is with the channel. Sometimes a removal/reboot/reinstall of the channel will clear it. Don't forget the reboot, or the removal isn't really complete. That's really the only thing you can try. If that doesn't do anything, then you need to report it to Newsmax, as they are responsible for the functionality of their channel.

Yes, I had the same issue. I did the system restart and that worked.  Now, maybe 10 minutes after getting it working,  the streaming froze, and says source unavailable. 🤔.  Shows a button to TRY AGAIN, so I have tried again several times with no positive result. It does seem to only be affecting conservative channels, because the same dropping out back to home screen is also happening on the FOX Live, and OAN One America News. So I guess I'll keep trying until someone narrows down what's happening.

Also I've tried watching on just my phone when the TV Newsmax app says SOURCE UNAVAILABLE,  and my Newsmax phone app is doing the same thing,  so it is localized to Newsmax.

In that case, it's best to contact them directly to get the channel going on your Roku, as they can fix your error.

The channel developers themselves maintain channels on Roku. In this case, an issue within that specific channel likely needs to be addressed with an update from the channel developer.

I’m having the same trouble on my ipad and my Fire TV. I think Newsmax is having an issue.

I am having this same issue.  What's up, Roku?????? Why are you not allowing Newsmax on our home screen?

It isn't Newsmax, it is a Roku virus. . .Please reapply technical fixes on your end.

No such thing as a Roku virus. The problem is with the Newsmax app.
