Whenever I try to watch a video on ESPN i get the error message:
"We are unable to connect you to the service. Please verify that you are connected to the internet and try again."
But I am connected to the internet and everything else works fine. My ESPN app works on other devices. What's going on? I've tried uninstalling the app, restarting the wifi, everything suggested from before. It's been weeks! What can I do?
We're grateful for your first post here in the Roku Community, @bizessness!
Thanks for reaching out about the streaming issues you've encountered with the ESPN app on your Roku. We'd be happy to suggest some steps to help you troubleshoot.
Kindly follow the steps provided below:
We need to make sure that these steps have been done precisely to work. For reference, you may check this support article: How to resolve a playback issue.
However, if you have an active subscription to this app, removing it will not be visible. If this is the case, we highly recommend reaching out to the channel providers themselves for additional support as they manage and maintain their app on the Roku streaming platform.
You may reach them here: ESPN Support
We hope this information helps.
Best regards,
Carly
I have both the Disney+ Bundle and a Dish Network account. I have followed the steps mentioned above and I can access ESPN on demand content for ONE PLAYBACK; after that, I have to go through the process ALL OVER AGAIN every time I want to watch any ESPN on demand content on my ROKU. I have also consulted a ROKU technical support advisor by chat and the suggested solution and end result are exactly the same - one playback followed by failure to connect on any subsequent attempt. What a drag!! I am tired of ROKU and ESPN assigning blame to one another, so I purchased an Onn 4k Pro Streaming Box from Walmart and I can now watch any and all ESPN on demand content I want whenever I want without fail. Goodbye, ROKU.
