I am also unable to access ESPN. It was included in my pkg. For what I pay, it should still be available. Obviously, others have the same issue, so, fix this.
Welcome to the Roku Community, @Rpauley!
Thank you for reaching out. We'd be happy to help you contact the right support for this.
Please be informed that most apps on the Roku streaming platform, including the ESPN+ app, are managed and maintained independently by the channel provider. In cases like this, we highly recommend coordinating with the service provider themselves for further assistance.
You may reach them here: ESPN+ Support
We hope this will be sorted out soon.
Best regards,
Carly
Hey @RokuCarly you've been posting this same answer in every discussion relating to ESPN. It's not helpful.
Neither company wants to take responsibility for their problem.
Roku needs to take ownership.
Please stop parroting corporate BS. It's really annoying and makes you seem like a robot.
Hi, @alignedbydesign.
Thanks for sharing your input.
Please be informed that Roku doesn't manage channel authentication (activation). I have suggested directly contacting the channel provider, as Roku simply hosts the channel on the platform and does not have direct management control over it.
We also suggest directly coordinating with the service provider for further information and clarification about channel subscriptions and their offerings.
Hope this helps!
Best regards,
Carly
I have solved this problem. What I did was, I went to Bestbuy.com and I bought an Amazon Fire TV.
Hopefully that will continue to work for you, but a quick scan of Amazon's forum shows ESPN issues there as well. One user's response to being directed to ESPN for support: "I've already talked to ESPN that says the problem is in Amazon's Fire OS!"
I'll be getting a better experience all around. No laggy apps, no willy-nilly changes to live TV menus. Just a better experience.
I don't recall seeing anything lag on my Roku Express 4K, but I think you might have had a Roku TV. TVs frequently do integrate very low end components to keep the total price down, but each model from each brand may make different choices in that regard, so it wouldn't surprise me at all if some are laggy and some are not. If your TV becomes laggy in the future, remember that you can always plug a player (of any type, and possibly multiple types!) into HDMI port(s). Its much cheaper and easier than shuffling TVs in my opinion.
Oh, I definitely had a bad Roku TV... not sure if it was an exception or a rule. But it's no longer my problem. 👍
I just had the same issue - very angry that I wasted $12.
