It takes two to tango. Both Roku and Disney have to come to agreement. We will never know the details of the ongoing negotiations. Only once an agreement is reached will anything become public. You should be pressuring Disney as hard as you are with Roku, and Disney is the final decision maker in getting it on the Roku platform.
So explain why ROKU with ads is no longer available. Do I have to drop ROKU and go to Firestick?

I believe you mean Disney+ with ads. Roku has never had it, so saying it's no longer available isn't accurate. Disney and Roku are still in negotiation about adding the basic version to Roku devices. The regular Disney+ has been and remains available on all supported Roku devices.
Unfortunately mirroring doesn’t work because roku blocks it on certain apps I have tried this option
Hi @Jenn6,
Welcome to the Roku Community!
We understand that you having an issue with screen mirroring with Disney plus Basic, is that correct? We would be happy to look further into this issue but will need more details. Can you please provide us with the following information:
Please keep us posted and we'll continue assisting you from there.
Best regards,
Mary

Roku is not blocking anything when mirroring. The Roku has no idea what you are mirroring, so whatever is on the phone, tablet or computer screen will appear on the Roku. All the Roku sees is the image that is being fed from the device. Any blocking would be occurring from the mirrored device, and I find that highly unlikely.
Before I consider upgrading, can you confirm if Disney plus with No Ads will work on Roku? Thanks
@askoufos current information is Disney+ with ads is still not available on Roku devices. I'm certain there will be announcements by both Disney and Roku if/when it happens.
Disney+ without ads has been and continues to be available on most Roku devices. It's only the oldest models that Disney does not support. Anything sold within the past 5 years should be fine. But if you provide the model number of your Roku we could be more certain.
Hi Dan, thanks! I purchased my Roku in 2020, during pandemic, to watch Disney+ and it worked fine then. I dropped Disney+ as I wasn't watching it much but recently subscribe for the Hulu Duo bundle. It is model 3930X, Express HD(I believe). After further research, I found it is an ad sharing issue between Disney and Roku. I will be dropping my Disney+ subscription as a result. Why pay for something I can't use?
I appreciate your response.
If you drop Disney Plus with ads because of the ROKU issue, be sure to do the survey Disney sends you so they know it was because of not being able to use the stream on ROKU.
