You are assuming that Roku was offered a package similar to what is offered to the more conventional providers like DirecTV. Based on what I have seen from other online only providers, this often is not the case. Roku can only provide what is offered by the service providers, and in many cases it’s not the complete package.
History channel does not have any real "next day" type streaming. Older seasons are spread all over the place. The only latest episodes are through Live TV services via DVR or OnDemand. The cheapest for History is Frndly TV. $10/month ($8 for annual) gives you HD and a 3 month unlimited DVR.
Be careful as the sign up form defaults to annual, but shows per-month. A bit sketchy if you ask me.
I just noticed the same thing this weekend. I’m not gonna pay almost $12 a month and see old programming. I could do that on YouTube. I could also go back to sling where I could get a daily channel guide. Customer service has yet to be able to answer that – why there’s no channel guide for Discovery+.
Roku support – that sounds like an excuse to consumers. We’re paying you for a service. You need to work that out with them.
I won’t be adding any new subscriptions through Roku for the time being. I feel like we are being taken advantage of in every area…..tv is one more thing. I can watch reruns using Roku live TV. And my antenna.
@CreolePaulaM are you watching it via the Discovery+ app or within The Roku Channel? If it's the app, then your complaint is with Discovery, not Roku. If it's through TRC, then see comments above that subscriptions through Roku don't always include the complete catalog from the provider.
