I just signed up for "Discovery+" on The Roku Channel and discovered there are NEW SEASONS and NEW SHOWS that are NOT ON "Discovery+" on the Roku Channel!!!!!!!
"Bail Jumpers" is MISSING
"Signs of a Psychopath" is MISSING Season 7 (2024)
"Murder in the Heartland" is ALSO MISSING the newest season 2024
So what am I paying for? All of Last Years episodes?
C'mon Roku get your act together and UPDATE ALL SHOWS AND EPISODES or I will CANCEL!!!!!
Roku can only provide the seasons/episodes the content owners agree to. Very often they withhold episodes or entire seasons for reasons only they know. Since they offer their own direct subscription service, they might want you to sign up directly with them instead of through a 3rd party like Roku. But they will never confirm something like that publicly.
So screw Roku, I'll sign up with Discovery+
Fair enough. But just be aware those same shows may be missing from their online service as well. I've not heard that specifically with Discovery, but I have heard of online services that simply don't provide every episode of every show. Why? I have no idea. But it might be worth contacting Discovery and make certain they offer complete seasons of shows. Of course, that is depending on the person you contact actually knowing the correct answer, and not simply providing the answer they believe you want to hear.
I checked on Discovery+ BEFORE I posted here. And why would Discovery withhold episodes or current seasons from their own channel?!? That doesn't make any sense!!!
So I will Still Cancel.

I have no idea why companies might do that. I'm simply pointing out that it has happened in the past with other providers.
No Problem, I Cancelled!
Its not just Roku. 90 % of Discovery plus (and other streaming services) content is last season. They are all in legal battles with the big players in cable and satellite over streaming. We are the chumps that keep thinking these companies care about their paying customers. They DO NOT!
We appreciate your first post here in the Roku Community, @Nicks60!
Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We'd be happy to provide further information.
In cases like this, we highly recommend directly raising this matter with the channel provider as they manage and maintain their app on the Roku streaming platform.
It's important to note that Roku simply hosts the channel on the platform and does not have direct management control over it.
For future reference, you may reach them here: Discovery Plus Support
We hope you find this information helpful.
Warm regards,
Carly
