Re: Continue Watching List Removed from ESPN+

Jump to solution

Hi @bwparker11,

Thank you for providing your Roku TV information.

We would like to take a closer look into this issue. Are you referring to the Continue watching list inside the ESPN+ channel or on your Roku TV menu screen?

We look forward to your response.

Cheers,
Riamie

The “Continue Watching”  option that is inside the ESPN+ App. In other Smart TV platforms it is underneath the “Leagues” listing.

Re: Continue Watching List Removed from ESPN+

Hello Riamie:

has there been any progress on resolving this issue? It does not appear that a new ESPN app has been released by ROKU. The app still shows as being version 5.2, build 2024110500

Please advise. It is very frustrating that a previously working feature was removed from the app and the same feature in the ESPN app on other TV platforms such as Samsung still have the feature to resume watching content that you were previously streaming.

Thank you.

It seems here that Roku has given up on the issue and is now blaming ESPN, which originally directed me back to Roku saying it was their issue. It would seem the best solution would be to revert to the previous version of the app, but no one on either side seems to be too serious about addressing this issue. This is an important feature that needs to be restored.

I appreciate the response and I look forward to hearing back on the issue and seeing a new updated app pushed out that resolved the problem and brings back the "Recently Watched" section so you can go back into the ESPN+ App and resume watching something that you left off on, especially for longer games.

Since I get Power Play and Continue Watching (not Recently Viewed as one employee calls it) on my laptop & phone through ESPN it's obvious this is a Roku problem. Roku has been disingenuous. You have raised the cost and removed services. Over 1000 games might be streamed but Roku has limited a hockey fan's ability to watch a lot of those games. Maybe you should reach out to other experts for help because when there are 23 games over 2 days, it's impossible to watch the games we want without Continue Watching.

@hbkat, Roku has nothing to do with the ESPN app and the vast majority of other apps that run on Roku hardware.

@renojim That doesn't mean the disappearance of a feature on a particular app isn't due to Roku's software updates. I've had and continue to have the same issue as others here for over a month.
