For weeks now I have been unable to get the TCM channel to activate on one of my TV's at 2 different homes. I select ROKU, enter the code select the TV Provider, Direct TV Stream, hit submit it flashes activating account and then just returns to enter the code.
I have tried different PC's and phones. rebooted the roku to no avail...
Hi @amykc,
Thanks for posting in the Roku Community!
We believe that you have taken fantastic troubleshooting steps so far. Suppose the issue persists on one channel after attempting the troubleshooting steps, and you can't successfully activate the channel. In that case, we recommend contacting the channel provider's customer support team to report the issue and get help. Channels on Roku are maintained by the channel developers themselves. In this case, an issue within that specific channel likely needs to be addressed with an update from them.
Please keep us posted if there's anything else we can do to help you.
Best regards,
John
You've got me scratching my head on this one. Seems like if you can authenticate TCM on one installation, you should be able to authenticate using the same TV provider credentials on another.
Are you using the same computer/phone/tablet and browser when trying to authenticate at this second location? One possibility is that the browser is automatically entering an incorrect stored password, causing the authentication to fail. (If you've switched from Directv satellite to Directv Stream, maybe an old satellite password?)
The only other unlikely thing I can think of is use of a VPN to connect to the internet at the second location. If it identifies you as being in a different country where TCM is not supported, maybe this causes a rejection (??).
Is the one that works at the same location as the Direct TV subscription address? It's possible it's using some form of geolocation to only allow it to activate at the location.
