I keep getting a message from Disney saying my TV is not part of my household account. When I click on Update Household Disney emails me a 6 digit code and the TV displays a screen to enter the code however there is no way to enter the code, there is no onscreen keyboard and the keyboard on the Roku App on my smartphone doesn't do anything. I have reinstalled my smartphone app as well as the Disney app on the Roku box and rebooted the Roku box but nothing seems to work. Anyone have a fix for this?
So there is no cursor shown on the screen as such and when I use the up arrow to try to navigate to the data entry field nothing is highlighted and all I get is a "thunk" sound indicating incorrect input - however ...
when I hit the centre OK button of the smartphone app lo and behold an on-screen numeric keyboard appears both on the screen and on the smartphone app. I was able to enter the Disney code with it and am now back in business.
So thanks for suggesting the OK button and thanks to everyone else in the community who offered suggestions as well - the official Roku support was useless
There should be somewhere on that screen (text entry field perhaps) that activates the on-screen keyboard for data entry when you click on it.
I can click on the keyboard icon on the smartphone app and this opens a keyboard on my smartphone but nothing I type on the keyboard is entered on screen.
The Disney screen on the TV itself does not offer a text or numeric key pad, only a 6 digit field for the code and a "Continue" button to press once the code is entered.
Here is the screen capture
It looks like the Continue button is the active control. What happens if you press the up arrow on your remote? Do you get to the code field?
@EdwardK2- the web page isn't ready to receive input until you click on the data entry field - in this case the first zero. At that point it should accept input from the on-screen keyboard on your browser or Roku remote app.
The code to enter is sent to your email.
Thanks but the problem is it does not accept input from the keyboard even when I use the up arrow on the remote to navigate to the data entry field.
Does an onscreen keyboard appear? Can you drive that with the remote?
Place cursor on first zero AND PRESS OK.
