I am wondering why the CBC Gem app is not available on Rokus in Canada? Also is it going to be available at some point? It is kind of weird that it is not available in Canada since the CBC is the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation.

It's up to the provider to create a channel/app for Roku.  Reach out to them and tell them you'd like to see them on Roku.

This CBC page says: “Currently, there is no CBC Gem app/channel for Roku.”

And right under that it says: “Have more questions? Submit a request”. 

Whether they can or will answer a “why” question is debatable, but at least they’ll know one more person wants it.

I think there’s a lot more of us who want the GEM app made available on Roku.

We don't have any information to share at the moment about when the channel will be available on Roku. The channel is managed and developed by its channel publisher. We suggest you reach out to them to let them know you want their streams available on Roku.

Well, there is a CBC Gem app for the Roku as of yesterday, but I can't run it for more than about 25 minutes before the Roku seizes up and gets uncomfortably warm [overheating ?].  And I've never had the Roku do that before [reboot on it's own , get hot to touch].  I don't know who else to complain to, I contacted CBC .
