my Roku stick works fine, however my TCL Roku TV is the one with the issue but up to a few days ago it worked fine.
I can watch GEM on my TV with the Roku stick, it's my TCL Roku TV that is having the issue of preventing me from streaming because it suddenly thinks that I am not in Canada. I can also watch Gem on my computer so I don't think the issue is with GEM I think the issue is with ROKU. I have done all the fixes and it still does not work. Prior to this issue my TCL TV was working fine, streaming on GEM was not an issue.
I haven't been able to play any shows on CBC Gem App and the message is "Error 3304 Sorry, this content is not available outside of Canada". It has been like this for a couple of weeks. I tried all the reset solutions but still won't work. Any other ideas?
Hi, Community users.
We have received reports regarding the CBC Gem Error Code 3304 while accessing the app on your Roku devices. If you've tried the troubleshooting steps provided by @RokuERey', and the issue persists, we highly recommend reaching out to CBC Gem's Support team and letting them know about the issue you've encountered.
A workaround or an update will resolve this issue when it's acknowledged by CBC Gem's Support team since most channels on the Roku platform are designed and maintained by the channel providers.
For more information, you can reach out to them at CBC Gem - CBC Help Centre
We hope this will be sorted out soon, and let us know if you have further concerns or inquries.
Best wishes,
Kash
This is still an error code coming up. I haven't had my roku plugged in or running for some time. After I initially plugged it in, it worked fine but after the updates recieved two days ago, (I plugged it in the night before and was able to watch shows just fine) the message keeps popping up. Still an unresolved issue.
The only place that can resolve the issue is CBC. Roku has no control over the functionality of 3rd party apps/channels. For some reason the app is telling their server you are not located in Canada. Only CBC can resolve the issue. It's entirely possible it's a server-side issue of theirs that is misidentifying specific Roku models, and there's nothing wrong with the app itself. But only CBC can determine what's wrong.
Now that I've looked at the issues others have been dealing with, I guess I can be thankful we're only having trouble with CBC Gem, on our Sharp TV with built-in Roku. I will add my voice to the other CBC viewers who are struggling and contact them. I hope it gets sorted out before the new season of shows start, otherwise we'll be stuck watching Gem on small screens. (We haven't had any problems with Gem on phones or laptops.) It least I can watch The National on the TV through the Roku channel, but I miss other CBC shows.
BTW, I followed the CBC tech support link and I found this message from 23 days ago:
"Some users accessing the CBC Gem App via a Roku device may encounter an error indicating they are outside of Canada:
“Sorry, this content is not available outside of Canada. Error 3304”.
This issue is affecting some users who are located in Canada and are not using VPNs or proxy services.
We are actively investigating this issue."
So it seems all we can do is wait.
