I just came here to $itch since I see it's been a problem already. I like my apps WHERE I PUT THEM!!!
Have you already verified that the "app order" is set to manual?
Settings/Home Screen/App Order/[Manual]
I don't have an "app order manual" in my settings. I've looked.
For those that do not have the auto/manual option, and experiencing the reordering of apps, it is usually a power supply or memory fail issue.
If you have a Roku model that has a USB power supply, you can try replacing both the USB cable and the power adapter (5volt, 1amp cell phone charging adapter should work). If powering from TV, try using a wall outlet.
It seems though that the Ultra models seem to suffer this more so than the other devices. For that, you could try replacing the barrel adapter. (100-240 Volts 50/60 Hz) https://www.roku.com/products/accessories/roku-power-adaptor-ultra

If turns out not to be the power supply, then I believe it to to be a flash memory issue, (and since hardware related) no real resolution other than replacing the device unfortunately. (at least from what I have seen).
What? So im a tv technician now. .smh

@RokuTakashi I have the same issue… One app is not appearing on my Home Screen. When I search for it, it says Open (not install). The app opens just fine, but does not appear on my Home Screen. I’ve tried rebooting, etc. but app does not appear.
And there’s no way to remove that app it seems, unless it appears in the Home Screen.
I also tried to sign out of the device, but absurdly, there seems to be no way to do that (short of factory reset, which I refuse to do).
To add, I have 2 Roku’s (same account) and this behavior is only happening on one of them.
@Ralf8274, try using the mobile app to remove it. Search for it within the mobile app and there should be an option to remove it. Note that removing an app does not cancel any subscription. Once it's removed, make sure to perform a "System restart" from Settings->System after removing. Once it restarts search for the app from "Streaming Store" to add it again. Don't add it from the Roku website. There have been numerous reports of apps added from the website not appearing on the Home Screen.
