During setup pushing the setup button it states ready to connect. the next step is connecting to the internet. At this time the light should start flashing red / blue but just continues to flash red and stating ready to connect. Tried separating the 5ghz and 2.4ghz with different names to no avail. Will never go into search mode.

Thanks for sharing your report about this and we'd like to help you out! Try resetting that device by pressing and holding the reset button at the back of it. Then try again to see if that works.
