Hello! @Carlcrow91,

Thank you for your initial post in the Roku Community!

We appreciate you contacting us regarding your Indoor Camera and your decision to not subscribe to a Smart Home plan. We are happy to help.

A micro SD card provides physical storage for your Roku® Smart Home camera, letting you back up your event recordings and capture your continuous, scheduled, and time-lapse recordings. You can view some of these recordings from the Roku Smart Home mobile app, but with others, you need to remove the micro SD card and connect it to your computer or laptop.

How to record to your micro SD card

Videos are always captured to your micro SD in Full HD 1080p. When your card runs out of space, the oldest footage is overwritten to make room for new recordings. To record to your micro SD card, open the smart home app and follow the instructions below.

Event and continuous recordings

  1. Select your camera from the Home screen
  2. Tap Settings in the corner

  3. Select Advanced settings
  4. Tap and toggle Record to MicroSD card
  5. Select Continuous or Events only

Scheduled and time-lapse recording

  1. Select your camera from the Home screen
  2. Tap More

  3. Select Scheduled recording or Time-lapse
  4. Enter the details for the recording

For more detailed instructions please check this out: How to install a micro SD card in your Roku Smart Home Camera

I'm having the same issue.  While troubleshooting the problem, I discovered motion notifications were off and no option to turn back on.  The toggle switch was greyed out.

Hi @Brensmith @zhivago446,

Thank you for updating us here in the Roku Community!
We will be more than happy to assist you with your Roku indoor camera not recording. Please try these troubleshooting steps below:

  1. Please confirm the Roku Smart Home app and Roku indoor camera firmware are up to date.
  2. Confirm that detecting motion and sound is turned on in the Events Recording setting. (Indoor Live Stream > Settings > Event Recording)
  3. Turn the detection sensitivity to 100. (Indoor Live Stream > Settings > Detection Zone)
  4. Confirm if there aren’t any scheduled rules that might affect when event recording takes place.

If the problem still continues, please keep us posted.

All the best,

John

One of my indoor camera stopped recording events.  All setting are the same on both camera's.  I have tried everything recommended and nothing has worked.  Would really like to get this problem solved.
