They said if it's Disney plus I have to go to them and they said go to Roku either way no one is helping me get this charge stopped. I have cancelled all Roku subscriptions until this is fixed so bet not no one charge me again. I have no streaming services for the time being. This has gone on for close to a year
As a 25+ year banker, make sure you completely block and close out her debit card and then go into your system and order another one. Do not do a block and transfer bc VISA, not your bank, sometimes will push reoccurring charges thru to the next card if it is just transferred to a new number. I'm not trying to tell you how to do your job bc I don't know how long you've been a banker but newer bankers don't always know this.
I am having the same issue I am beyond pissed off. I spent two hours on the phone with Disney and with Roku at the same time. Both of them are directing me to each other. When I view my Roku account and when I spoke to them the charge is clear as day and shows up the same way u said. She confirms the charge but tells me that's all she can see. She couldn't even provide Disney with a confirmation number. Only a transaction of which was rediculously long and had letters and the Disney people couldn't access anything with it. I was charge for Disney and Hulu in yet I can't get into the account. Roku charged me for it on their website it shows under charges SO I KNOW IT WAS THEM. but it doesn't show under subscriptions. Neither people Roku or Disney could help me get into the account. At this point Roku is a bunch of crooks. I'm cancelling everything I have with them. It says right on their website if u have Netflix and Disney or Hulu contact them directly about it account. So is that saying they don't partner with Disney? Then why the **bleep** was I charged for Disney? From now on what I suggest to people what I'm going to do is only access the apps I want subscriptions to from a phone or tablet to sign up. Because if you do it directly on your TV it will charge thru Roku. And there a bunch of crooks. This is how they got rich. They charge everyone all these bogus charges and most people won't sit on the phone or go thru all these hoops over a ten or five dollar charge. I am completely disgusted I'm telling everyone I know to never put ur credit card number thru your TV if you have roku
Tell her to go to Disney plus .com on her phone. If she wants to subscribe never enter your card number thru your TV. Everyday I get notifications I have to keep my card locked because Roku is charging me 1.78 2.53 7.99 . I went in circles for two hours on the phone at the same time with Disney and Roku. The Disney people reached out to Roku and had me on the line because Roku charged me for the Disney subscription and confirmed it but the subscription doesn't show under my subscriptions and Disney is telling me they have no record of the charge and there is no payment on my account so now I paid for it and can't even watch it. I'm disgusted with Roku . Disney said they needed a confirmation number which Roku would not provide only a transaction ID that literally couldn't be looked up on Disney's end. So I'm conclusion Roku told me they had to submit a ticket and I would get an email. I am so pissed Roku is the worst fruads and crooks
@mariehannah514 It has already been explained above, but I'll say it again. You said there is no subscription shown in your Roku user account. That is all you need to know. Roku is not billing you, regardless of what it says on your credit card bill. Your CC information has been compromised, and a thief has used your CC info and submitted a phony charge on your account. Again, it doesn't matter if the bill says Roku, because the thief can enter whatever they want in a simple text field and that is what shows on your bill.
You need to immediately contest the charge on your CC, and you also need your CC provider to cancel that card and issue you a new card with a new number.
No that is incorrect. Roku absolutely did charge me. I spent and hour on the phone with them. The charge is listed on my account on their website when I look at my billing history. The representative I spoke with provided me with a transaction ID. So how would you explain that? She said they did charge me and I have the invoice to prove it. In yet I still can't get into the Disney account because Disney has no record of it and Roku won't provide them with anything to access the payment. Therefore LIKE I SAID Roku is a bunch of crooks. Charged me for something they refuse to give me or even straighten out. So like I said since they won't give me a refund SINCE THEY CHARGED ME I had to cancel everything through them and dispute the charge with my bank
Jeez for an expert I would think you know how to read because I clearly stated that in my comment but thanks for your very unhelpful information any more advice?
I simply responded to your comment that no subscription appears under your Roku user account. If there's nothing listed there, Roku did not charge you. I'm not certain you spoke to someone at Roku, as they don't offer telephone support. Have a nice day.
I’m in the same boat and it has been going unnoticed for quite some time. I finally am making an attempt to get my finances back in order and this came to light. As I’m looking into it I find this thread and thought I’d share with you what’s going on since there’s so many people that seem to disagree about who’s making these charges. I’m really hoping at this point that it is not Roku. But I can definitely see how easy it would be for them to continue charging me for it after we stopped the subscription. It shows on the app the subscription is not active and on my tv it gives me the option to restart my subscription which I’m sure would cause me to get charged twice each month, but my bank is being charged $15.99 each month. Ugh!!! Is Roku responsible?? Who’s doing this!!!! I will know for sure really soon (we all will) because part of me getting my financial life together included me opening a new bank account for all my house bills. I am transferring all my recurring pmts over to the new bank. With that being said, since I DO NOT have a flippin Disney subscription, when I switch everything over to the new account and the auto pmts start coming out in November I shouldn’t see that charge anymore. If that charge still appears …….
“Roku for Disney” well, then I’ll be cancelling everything through roku and making some noise about this.
