Can I use the Discovery+ subscription that pay directly to Discovery+ on the Roku Channel or do I have to subscribe through the Roku Channel?
Don't use The Roku Channel to access it. Just install the Discovery+ app and use that directly.
@BillHatfield You can not use the Discovery+ subscription that you paid directly on the Roku channel. Add the Discovery Plus app to your Roku device and use the Discovery Plus app to login to your subscription.
I've already downloaded the discovery app on my Roku device and it still keeps telling me to choose a plan then when I go to choose it and then it keeps telling me that it wasn't able to confirm my purchase but when I go to my Roku account the purchase is already been made and then it tells me on my TV Roku device that the purchase is already been made but it still won't let me stream Discovery Plus
First, verify that your Roku is signed into the same account you are checking online. You can go to settings/system/about to verify.
There seems to b 3 ways to subscribe to Discovery+ on a Roku. Direct from Discovery+, through Roku, and through The Roku Channel. If you subscribe through The Roku Channel, it will only work through that. The other two should use the standalone app.
To be honest, subscribing through Roku is confusing and can limit where you can use your subscription. You are better off ALWAYS subscribing directly from a service's WEB SITE when possible.
