Voice remote pro won't charge

I ordered a new voice remote pro and have had it a month or less.  The battery started showing up low a few days ago so I put it on a charger over night. The green light was blinking slowly, so it seemed to be charging but the next day the light was still blinking slowly and the Roku reported the battery was at 0% charge.  Now it is completely dead, though the green light still blinks slowly when I plug in the charger and the remote works as long as it is plugged in.

  • I can’t get my remote to charge for the life of me. I’ve tried absolutely everything. It says it’s charging but after being plugged in for 10.5 hours it still hasn’t charged. I’ve tried all the troubleshooting & still no go. I don’t have the $20 it costs to replace it & even if I did how do I know this won’t happen again?

I have the same issue on one of my voice remote pro’s.

I’ve tried multiple chargers for days on the charger and as soon as I unplug it, it will work for about 10 seconds and then be dead.

      It’s an RC541/RCMC1

      MAC Address # 84:EA:ED:38:B7:74

How can I get this replaced?

  • I got my voice remote during the product launch. It's been working and charging fine. Today, it won't charge. Nothing has changed... Roku cable, same USB power source. Green led blinks slowly, but it won't charge. Normally, it would full charge in several hours.

I am in the camp of the pro remote no longer charging. Just started today. It flashes on the screen rapidly that it is charging then unplugged over and over. Tried different cables, tried pairing button. No luck. It's as if the remote connectors aren't working. Need a replacement. Have my order info

The remote comes with usb cable only, you have to supply the usb ac adapter, you might have chosen one that isn't up to snuff or broken. Try another?

The manual just says any standard USB adaptor.  I've tried no less than 3 phone chargers of 2 Amps or more, and as previously stated, the light flashes slowly, but no charging seems to occur the battery is still dead after 3 hours or 15 hours. Something clearly is not right.

I would like a refund, repair, or replacement because right now, the remote is useless to me.  It's rather disappointing, as I rather liked the remote until the battery died. Honestly, I've never had any problems with any of my Roku devices or remotes until now.  (I've purchased at least 5 different Rokus over the years.)

        Thanks

My voice remote pro won’t charge as well. It only works when it’s plugged in to the micro usb, but once I remove the usb charger the remote won’t work. Please help!!!

I have the same problem. The remote works only when connected to a USB charger. The screen shows that the remote is charging. However when the charging cable is removed, (even after letting it charge for a whole day) the remote shows almost no battery life. Sometimes, it shows a tiny bit of charge. But it only lasts for a couple of hours.

  • I'm having the same issue.  I've used 3 different plugs and the charging light does not turn on.  How do I replace my remote?

Walkergang54  The serial number is written right on the back of the remote. Use a bright light and your phone to see it.

  • I have the same problem. We thought by having a rechargeable remote would be beneficial but it lasted for 2 charges. The last charge stayed on 3% for a couple of days but now it just stays on 0.  Can you direct me to warranty claims please?

  • I have the same problem. Ive only had my Roku for 4 months and the battery lasted only a month at a time and now it wont charge even 1%, plugged in for days. I dont have the packaging or even remember where I bought it. Should I really have to buy a new one when this one is faulty within a few months?

  • USE THE ROKU CABLE THAT CAME WITH THE DEVICE WAS MY LESSON LEARNED.
My remote stopped working tonight too—0% charge. I plugged it in with a compatible cable and USB plug and it showed as charging, but after an hour it would still only hit 1% or 2%. As soon as I used it, back to 0%. Frustration to the maximum. After 3 hours and reading that other folks were having the same issue, I remembered it came with a specific charging cable. I found it and hooked it up about an hour ago—strong even pulses on the green light and right now at 91% going up. Was 80% not long ago. Too bad I can’t locate the Roku AC adapter or I’d probably be done. Oops at 93% since I typed 91. USE THE ROKU CABLE WAS MY LESSON LEARNED.

I forgot to mention that maybe it was the cable or the connector—regardless I am now happy at 100%. Hope this may be helpful. USE THE ROKU CABLE.
