Roku Ultra is unable to switch TV input.

I am trying to find solution to a very simple question:  On the Roku Ultra can I use the Roku remote to change HDMI input? I want to switch to the Frontier cable box.

Easy to do on the Roku TV but no info anywhere on the Ultra.  And, who thought AI was a good idea for Chat support?

    Hey kentek

Looks like you're running into changing your TV inputs from Roku Ultra to a different device. For your info, changing TV input options with the Roku remote is a feature available only on Roku TVs. If you’re using a Roku Ultra, you’ll need to use your TV’s remote to switch inputs. Here's what you can try.

    1. Press the Input/Source button on your TV remote to see the options.
    2. Navigate to which HDMI you wish to open.
    3. Press the Ok button and check if the screen switches.

We're here if you need anything else.

kentek , only TV's have inputs, so only they have an option on the Home Screen (or within the menu) to switch inputs.  The TV functions on Roku remotes are limited to controlling power and volume.  Sorry, but you'll need two remotes or one universal remote that can control both the TV and the Ultra.

There is one possible one-remote solution - set up the TV to always power on to the cable box's input (if possible) and use 1-touch play found under Settings->System->Control other devices to switch the TV to the Roku's input when you press a button on the Roku remote.  So after using the Ultra, quickly power the TV off and on to get it to switch to the other input.  For all of this to work, the TV has have a setting for its power-on input and it has to support CEC to get it to switch to the Roku's input.
