CC continuously disappears even though set to "on" - Roku Ultra
CC will not stay visible, regardless of app or show watched. We set it to on, then it functions correctly for only what we are currently watching, and not always the entire program. If we're watching a series, it may work for the current episode, but the next episode comes on, and it's off. If it's on and we switch to a different app or program, it's off again. In all these instances, we turn CC on again manually, plus we use voice control and instruct it to turn on, but CC does not reappear. The only way to get it to once again work is to reboot the roku. Why is this happening? It's been happening for a couple of weeks now. Previously, we never had this issue. Was there an update that caused this? When will it be fixed? We rely heavily on CC and need it to function as intended. We shouldn't have to repeatedly reboot Roku to get this necessary tool to work.36Views1like4CommentsThe TV turns back on after being turned off
This always has worked fine for me for years now, but problem just started happening yesterday on 10/28 (and I see an Update occurred on 10/28 as well). My settings have had "1-touch play" and "CEC" turned on for years now, and it's always worked fine. I always click any button on my Roku remote to turn the TV on, and then hit the Power button on the Roku remote to turn it off. Since yesterday, now when I hit the power button on the remote, the TV turns off, but then it turns itself back on about 1 minute later. I thought perhaps a button on my remote was starting to fail and was turning the TV back on, but I do not think that is the case - because if I click the power button to turn off the TV and then IMMEDIATELY take out the batteries from the remote, the TV still turns itself On after 1 minute. Also, if I manually turn the TV off using the physical power button located on the TV itself, it stays Off and does not turn back on. My Roku Premiere started turning the tv back on, seems like it shuts off at first when turn the tv off but then after a minute or so it comes back on and causes the tv to turn back on. It has been doing it for a few days now. I looked at settings/updates etc. seems it updated on 10/28/2025 to software version 15.0. Roku Express that has been installed and working for a year and a bit. Went to watch tv yesterday and the device was back to defaults ready to be installed. Looked at my Roku account and the device was no longer registered. Had to go through the registration and installation process from scratch. Any ideas? Hello everyone! We recently moved to Canada and 2 days ago we bought our first ever Roku streaming stick (3840CA) and i have a question regarding the warranties. We went to Walmart Canada (Scarborough) and got the Roku we wanted and we opted for the $5 extra coverage with it as well. I asked the cashier woman how long is the Roku under warranty for with and without the coverage and they didn't know. AFAIK USA and Canada when purchasing devices etc have a 1 year manufacturer warranty which is fine, but i have no idea how many extra years of warranty the company gives you if you pay an extra $5 on it. We have bought appliances and other stuff from Walmart and i remember the POS device showing "Add a 2 year protection plan" or something like that, and with our Roku purchase, it didn't say anything like this. They gave me a paper which shows about the coverage and where to submit my receipt in order for the extra coverage to be applied, but in that paper it doesn't show about Roku coverage, it only shows TVs, patio/furniture, laptops/tablets etc. Do you guys have an an idea for how long is my Roku covered under warranty with Asurion? I know for a fact that i have 1 year manufacturer warranty on that thing, but with the extra $5 i paid for, is it an extra 2 years of warranty totalling to 3? I received a Roku stick about a week ago and ever since it will keep randomly drop the sound. The first couple of times it happened after leaving Youtube on pause for a while but today it started doing it mid-show, one Youtube and one Hulu. The sound will work again after turning off and back on. Both the Roku and my TV are up to date. I have suspicion that an firmware update has caused an issue with my TV turning on even after it has been powered down. Scenario..... Turn on the Roku Express using Roku remote with the home button. Watch Netflix for a bit. Click the Roku back to the home screen. Physically turn off the TV and leave the Roku powered on. Randomly, the TV will turn itself back on with the Roku home screen. The only way the TV will stay turned off is if the HDMI cable connected to the Roku is unplugged. I have an older Vizio E55-D0 (2016) tv and the Roku is the only thing connected to it, and it is not a smart tv. It has worked for years without this issue. It all of the sudden started happening in August 2025 ish with no resolution yet. I have disabled the 1-touch setting but there was no change. I have not done a factory reset as setting it back up is a pain, but will do it if I absolutely have to. Have there been any changes to the wake up functionality that would have caused this?
