Roku Streaming Stick Plus - Remote dead

I purchased the Streaming Stick Plus 2025 - 4K and HDR from Amazon on 9/5/2025.  I've hardly used it and the remote is completely dead.  I changed the batteries and when through the troubleshooting to repair - and nothing.  No pairing lights will even come on.  Is it common for a near new remote to be completely non-functional?  In menu, shows last used Oct 12, 2025, Battery level unknown, Firmware unknown, model RC1002.  Please help.

    It shows that the remote for your Roku streaming stick is no longer pairing. Thanks for sharing the steps you've tried. Let's try some additional steps to fix your remote. 

    1. Restart the remote (Remove the batteries, press any two buttons, reinsert batteries (negative end first), and replace the cover.)
    2. Restart your Roku device (Unplug the device, wait 5 seconds, then plug it back in.) 
    3. Re-pair the remote (Restart your device again > Hold the pairing button or Back + Home for 5 seconds until the light flashes, then wait for the pairing message on screen.

      I've completed #1, no success.  I've completed #2, no success.  I've completed number #3, no success and the light will not flash.  Even with new batteries.
