Roku Express Home Screen glitch- bouncing apps

Hi, I started noticing this issue a few months ago. I have a Roku Express Model 3930RW software version 14.6. My TV is a Vizio, not a Roku TV.

Just about everytime I wake my Roku up to watch something, it goes to the home screen with all the app thumbnails, and then all the thumbnails start "bouncing" up and down. It's hard to describe but imagine all the thumbnails in unison quickly move up about one thumbnail "height" and then respawn back in their original spot. This repeats maybe 2-3 times per second, enough to be vaguely nauseating. While this is happening there's no way to control the cursor/scroll through apps, however I can scroll through the side menu.

Typically this lasts a  minute or two, but sometimes up to 10 minutes and then it works as usual. It's rather frustrating. I couldn't find any other threads with this specific issue. This is NOT the same as the Roku logo bouncing problem. Any help is much appreciated.

    It appears you're experiencing problems with your Roku Express, specifically with bouncing thumbnails.

    Consider restarting the system by going to Settings > Select System > Select Power. If you do not see a Power submenu, skip to the next step > Select System restart. Once done, please check if the issue persists.

  • We have been having the exact same issue for the past few months. We have a Roku speaker. It is extremely frustrating and have to system restart constantly. It seems like possibly the 'top picks' line above my apps contributes to it as they bounce as well.

      You mentioned you're experiencing the same issue. Could you tell us a bit more?

      • What steps have you tried so far?
      • Is this happening on all your Roku devices?
      • If you can, a photo or video of the issue would be helpful.


      In the meantime, try updating your Roku device by going to Settings > System > System Update > Check Now.

      Mine has started doing this as well. I've restarted mine twice but it continues to have this problem. Are there any other solutions?
