Have you tried restarting the roku in settings or unplugged it from power for 30 seconds and then plugged it back in? It fixed mine for a couple of months although today that stopped working for me.

I have a brand new Ultra that I opened recently after I had stored it for 2-3 years.
It is not able to complete the setup because the system detects it has an old firmware release, but it cannot reach the ROKU servers. I have tried a hot spot and wired ethernet connection with the same 003x error.
Another ROKU Ultra also brand new, but old, updated with no issues.
Is there a way for me to update the firmware via the USB port on the device? I believe the old firmware on the device has hard coded IPs to ROKU servers that are no longer available.
Thank you. - AMDG26Newbie
I experienced the same issue trying to update my Roku Express (3900 series) over the weekend, except it appears the problem occurred after the update had already started. I was stuck on the update screen, with the only two options being to "Cancel" or "Try again." I eventually had to manually reset my device by locating the reset button and holding it down. I realize that not all devices may have a reset button, but in this case this worked for me as I was finally able to update the device, although at the cost of resetting all the channels, etc. Hope this helps
