No sound when switching audio from phone app

Question

I'm using the ROKU android phone app and when I switching to phone speakers work fine. But when switching back to receiver speakers using HDMI ARC I get no sound. I can't switch back to phone speakers even though the phone app shows a green dot indicating that phone speakers are selected, can't control volume of TV and sometimes I can control the receiver volume but the volume display from the TV never changes and still no sound.

Only way to get sound back at all is to turn off TV and turn right back on.

You mentioned your Roku device has no sound when switching audio from the mobile app to your speakers. Have you tried disconnecting the speakers from your TV and then changing the audio if you can hear the sound on the TV speaker?&nbsp; Also, could you share which troubleshooting steps you've already tried?&nbsp;

It does it through my AV speaker using ARC. Right. Dose it matter if my TV speakers still work or not that I'm not using?

We're working to narrow down the issue. If the sound works fine on your TV speakers when switching the audio from your phone, the issue may be with the HDMI ARC connection between your TV and external speakers.

Ya, when trying to switch back to the phone speakers I get no sound too. I been using TV apps like YouTube and when trying to go back to phone speakers I get no sound too. So HDMI is not even used. Plus, I had this TV for around 2 years with not having a phone at the time with no problems at all. And when I did get a phone and start using the Roku phone app it didn't do it right away but when "again" changing to phone (works) but to AV no sound and no control of volume and no sound and back and forth with no sound from both devices.And yes, TV to phone back and forth they both still worked. Using Roku TV YouTube app.
