Backdrops Favorites Don't Save Changes

I have tried several times to change the pictures in my favorites list (removing some and adding others), but the list doesn't save the changes. I even tried clearing the entire favorite list, but when I went to Roku home and back into Backdrops, all the photos I removed were back. Is there some way to manually save changes or make sure that changes I make don't just revert?

    Hey everyone!

We'd like to know if you're still experiencing the issue. If so, can you please share if you have 100 items favorited? Also, does this recur after a power cycle or immediately after launching backdrops?

We hope to get a reply soon!

  • Having this issue as well. What good does it do to have a favorites option if it doesn’t work?!! Roku model 3941X, Express 4K+

  • I’m also having a similar issue. I will remove all my current favorites and those changes apply, but when I go to add new ones and start backdrops it goes back to the original ones I had favorited. I tried deleting the app, restarting the TV and re-downloading the app but no luck.

    Hey there! dndgeek2005

We understand you’re having trouble with Backdrops.

Could you send a photo of any error messages you're seeing when trying to save your favorite backdrops? We’ll look into it.

Looking forward to hearing from you soon!

I'm having the same issue. I spent time uploading exactly 100 of my own pictures into the Backdrops app, removed all the pictures from my favorites, added all 100 of my own pictures to the favorites, and turned on Backdrops. First picture to come up immediately was Saint Jerome by Caravaggio (ya know, the one I removed from my favorites). I've removed the app and made sure any TV logged into my Roku account also cleared the favorites, in case that was the issue. Redownloaded the app and guess what, the favorites was once again full of pictures that are not mine. I don't understand why it has a "favorites" option if Roku gets to decide what my favorites are.

There isn’t an error message displayed. I can no longer edit the images in My Favorites. Backdrops allows for 100 images in My Favorites. I have 100 paintings chosen. When I remove 15 of those, close Backrops, open another app, then reopen Backdrops, my edits have not been saved. My Favorites still has the 15 removed images; 100 images saved.  How do I save my edited My Favorites list?
