Expected for you and me. Many in their late 80's struggle to comprehend. My mother-in-law grew up when TV had two channels. It was the same programs, but one channel was in French. :D
Strega2 provided me with some much-needed encouragement. Mom is starting to get it. I went back over there yesterday afternoon -- when comprehension is a bit better. Together we "practiced" over and over. She called me late last night to tell me she had found her way back to a PBS show that she and I had started watching the night before. Not the live channel(s)... yet... but at least something which she enjoyed.
The next big ask is a remote with MUCH LARGER BUTTONS. The BHA (Big Hairy Ask) is to add AI to the remote (with much larger buttons) so that it somehow knows the difference between multiple button clicks on purpose and just shaking fingers. :D
