AirPlay not working in Roku TV

I have had my Roku TV for a while and have been air playing on my TV almost daily. All of a sudden the airplay stopped working and the Roku app on my phone will also no connect with my TV. This happened in the middle of watching a show. I have tested the connection, made sure I had the lost up to date software. I have been on so many Reddit threads and done what people have said. I have also tested the connection and don’t know what to do.

I have the same issues - have done all the fixes as well.  My issue began when I upgraded from wifi 5 to wifi 6 router (AX55).  Have done all the unplugging, re cycling, etc etc etc. My ROKU TV TCL is  AX0000 which supports airplay.  Clearly there is some king of bug due to the new tech of a wifi 6 router that ROKU has not fixed for quite some time.

After upgrade wit wifi 6 router  I wanted to mirror my iPhone screen to Roku. I have tried the following steps in an attempt to fix the issue:

    Checked router configs and rebooted
    [x] Rebooted Roku.
    [x] Rebooted iPhone
[x] Verified that both devices are on the same Wi-Fi network
[x] Verified that Roku can stream YouTube contents
[x] Verified that Airplay is enabled on Roku
    [x] Disabled IPv6

      Hi, Robert1021

We understand that you're not able to connect your Roku TV through AirPlay. Thanks for sharing the steps you've tried so far. Just to confirm—are you not seeing your Roku TV listed as a device in the AirPlay menu?

    Welcome! luna2727

I understand that AirPlay isn't working on your Roku TV. Try these steps:

    • Restart all devices: Power cycle your Roku TV, your Apple device (iPhone, iPad, Mac), and your Wi-Fi router.
    • Same Wi-Fi network: Double-check that your Roku and Apple device are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
    • Enable AirPlay: On your Roku, go to Settings > Apple AirPlay and HomeKit and make sure AirPlay is turned on.
    • Fast TV Start: Enable this feature under Settings > System > Power so your Roku can wake up for AirPlay connections

You can visit this link for more steps.

Let us know if that works!

        Thanks for the update! luna2727

To further investigate this, could you please provide the following details?

        • Roku device info: Software version, Device ID, and Serial Number (found in Settings > System > About).
        • Tracker ID, GC version, Software version, and build: (press Home 5 times, then Back 5 times when the issue occurs)
        • Make and model of the phone.

  • luna2727 Thanks for the detailed info! Since AirPlay and the Roku app both stopped mid-use, it sounds like a network or device communication issue. Try restarting your Roku TV and your router, then make sure your phone and Roku are on the exact same Wi-Fi band (2.4GHz vs 5GHz can sometimes cause this). If that doesn’t help, a system restart or even a network reset on the Roku may clear things up.

        Hey! luna2727

I understand that you've been through many troubleshooting steps and nothing has worked.

We'd like to know if you have also tried this? Tried resetting your network connection?

        1. Press Home  on your Roku remote
        2. Scroll and select Settings
        3. Select Advanced system settings
        4. Select Network connection reset
        5. Select Reset connection

        Important note:
Make sure to have your Wi-Fi credentials ready before doing it, as you'll be setting up the internet connection again.

Let us know if that helps!

None of the suggested fixes work - when is ROKU going to actually fix the issue - all they give us are cookies cutter fixes.  Unplug this, reboot that, stick your finger in your ear and hold your breath!
