Greetings Juanalopez
Welcome to the Roku Community and thanks for posting regarding your inquiry about your Roku Smart Home Camera.
Can you clarify the issue you are experiencing regarding the Roku Smart Home Camera stating "upload failed"? Does this issue only occur on a specific video, or does it happen on all of the video you are trying to view?
Please keep us posted and we will be able to assist you further.
Thanks,
Danny- JuanalopezReel Rookie
It occurs on some videos but not all but I really needed this specific video because someone came to our house and we don’t know who it was and it was caught on the camera but again it says “upload failed”

Commonly experienced this issue with the Roku Floodlight SE camera and Cloud. What camera do you have, as you don't specify?
I can't say if this issue is endemic to other models, but it certainly was able to be replicated with ease on the above.

Thanks to all those who have posted about this problem. I bought the camera a week ago. Same problem. I don't have the time to deal with it, I have no "connectivity" or network problems with anything else here, and the camera's in a place I can't easily reach in order to fiddle with it.
It appears from what I've read in this topic that there is no way to fix the problem. It just happens. Well, stuff is supposed to work as described. This camera is supposed to upload to the cloud and I'm supposed to be able to see video, not apologies.
So, it's only $26 plus the price of a micro sd. And I only bought one, to see if it's worth buying the other ten or so that I need.
When less than half the videos fail to upload (these past several days), and as of last night the connection won't stay on more than a minute or two...I don't need more of this product.

Why do I get recording notifications, and it is just a picture. Then it says " Your video was not successfully uploadec to the cloud. Please check your network connection. And it's connected I don't know what's going on

Hey GHS-TCB,
Welcome to the Roku Community!
We certainly want to help you regarding the issue you've encountered. For us to better assist, we'll need information. How far is the camera from your wireless network? Can you provide a screenshot with the error message you've encountered? Also, we suggest to reboot your wireless network and camera. If the issue still persists, let us know.
Looking forward to your response!
All the best,
Kash

I've been evaluating the indoor cameras for a week now and one of them is doing this almost all time. As I can see from the posts here I'm not the only one and also Roku does not have an answer. Glad I didn't cancel my nest account yet.

Your guess that Roku has yet to find solution or continues to troubleshoot is my assumption, too. The fact Roku has yet release any firmware update that fixes the missing audio or the cloud upload failure only seems to reaffirm these suspicions.

Seriously, do not even try to contact Roku. When I was actually able to get into contact with someone they quite literally asked me "Did you try turning it off and on again?" It baffles me that I don't have to pay for just one BUT TWO subscriptions for TWO cameras that don't even work most of the time. They either don't care to fix the problem or the place is run by senior citizens who don't even know what a "bug" is. I unfortunately have to keep paying because my car was broken into and need to keep watch hoping that if it does happen again it actually captures it. Roku don't rip off Wyze cameras if you can't even get it to probably record motion events. The fact that they don't even respond or talk about this situation more just tells me they do not absolutely care at all. We all deserve a refund for months of our subscription not working.

I have the same issue but what’s weird is I watched a video this morning but now the same video says it failed to upload.
if I do nothing (no restart of cam or WiFi), it goes back to normal on its own after maybe 1-2 hours it’s been like this since day one.Floodlight SE

The Floodlight SE will randomly cycle from uploading videos to upload failed. Again, I have stated this is a KNOWN PROBLEM, Roku Engineers are Aware of the issue, and 4 months later have done nothing to resolve.

Sometimes I wish everyone that had a subscription would stop paying and then that would gain there attention because 4 months is to long to not have this fixed yet !!!
Hi! I just recently purchased an outdoor camera and it works great livestream, when I go to events it only shows me pictures of cars or people, but won’t play the video. It tell me upload failed??? It’s happening to all of them. Help??

Welcome to the group of people duped into buying this inferior product. Roku is doing nothing to fix this so I would return it immediately instead of waiting for them to fix it like I did. Also post a review on the site you purchased it from warning others not to buy. They should have pulled these cameras from the market months ago but they continue to sell a product they know doesn't work. I'm stuck with 4 of them.

May we know how close is your Roku Smart Home device from your wireless router?
In addition, have you tried to reboot your device's system?

The issues are persistent are have nothing to do with troubleshooting on the consumer side. I have repeatedly brought multiple flaws to Roku's Engineering Staff, but as of this writing, the flaws likely remain outstanding.
A firmware was released recently that claimed to address the cloud issue with Video Upload Failed (Still Image Only). Whether or not this firmware resolved the matter remains unknown to me. I wouldn't pay for a service that clearly hasn't worked, in an effort to determine whether or not it now does.
The cameras have numerous other flaws like a lack of audio on MicroSD recordings due to improper encoding and muxing.
5-6 Months later, nothing seems to have changed. Essentially, Roku poached Wyse cameras and rebranded them their own. Thereby, inheriting the same flaws and shortcomings from what I can uncover via Googling.
