Why do my Notifications keep disappearing?

When I come to the community site, I first check my Notifications. Today, I clicked on the bell icon, and saw a whole list of Notifications. I clicked on one, made a comment, then clicked the icon again, but this time it said I have NO NOTIFICATIONS!

What is going on?  Why won't it show me my Notifications, as it should, what happened to them all?

    Time flies.  I mentioned the notifications unreliability in May and the support response was that it's on the list of bugs submitted to the forum developer.

    Just click on the Notifications again or refresh the page and they should reappear.

    Many features are broken, missing, slow to load, and don't work properly with this new forum.  Just have to keep mucking through the issues hoping they will be addressed as promised.
