Roku slow to respond when navigating channel
I have a Roku3 and have been experiencing similar issues. Not only was the Roku itself laggy, but the lag affected apps differently. YouTube was by far the worst affected, lagging to the point of being unusable and often crashing to a gray screen that required rebooting the Roku before YouTube would ever work again. I solved the problem (fingers crossed, knock wood!) by connecting the Roku to my router via Ethernet instead of wifi. Apparently, using wifi heavily taxes the Roku's CPU.3.6KViews0likes6CommentsRoku Streambar - Keeps kicking me out of my apps and back to the home screen

Same exact thing with the new 2024 4850X. I have the 4800X that I was upgrading from and that unit is just fine, no issues. The new model has the same exact issues. Screen saver crashes the system entirely, sometimes the whole thing becomes unresponsive randomly in an app and reboots and other times just hitting home from anywhere will cause it to freeze crash and reboot too. There’s a new processor in these models and my bet is there’s some memory handling issue or something they need to patch. Very annoying and not a good experience at all. This new one is terrible, I’d never look back at Roku if I was a new customer and I thought this was normal.2.1KViews1like32CommentsNew CNN Update is Freezing on the New Menu Screen on my Roku Player
Hi all, I tried to access CNN via the Roku player as I usually do, and today there was an update about their "new and improved" menu. However, it's not improved; I can't access anything and just see a black screen with some menu text, but no pictures. Any help? Edit: It doesn't work on my Roku TV either!1.9KViews2likes14CommentsRoku Ultra 4850 (2024) Dolby Vision Playback Issues - static/white artifacts
Hi, I have the new Roku Ultra and just replaced my old Roku Ultra 4660X by simply unplugging the HDMI cable from the old one and plugging it into my new one. However, Dolby Vision content on any channel or if it's turned on for the Roku home screen, shows white static artifacts that randomly pop up and disappear on the screen. My setup is a LG OLED CX 77 inch TV which is connected to a Yamaha Aventage 2070 AVR (Dolby Vision 4K capable). My Roku Ultra is connected to the AVR as well as my 4K Blu-ray player. Dolby Vision content plays perfectly fine from the 4K Bluray player to the TV so I don't see any issues with the cable to the TV or the AVR. My old Roku Ultra played 4K HDR content just fine as well on this setup. My new Roku Ultra will also play 4K HDR content just fine if I manually change the display type from the 4K Dolby Vision option to 4K HDR instead. I've tried changing the Auto-adjust display refresh rate and HDR Subsampling settings to see if that would change anything. Sometimes it seems a little better or worse depending. When it's worse, half the screen will display static that flickers on and off randomly. It feels like an HDMI cable issue, but all of my cables are Ultra High Speed and as mentioned earlier, play regular 4K HDR content from the Ultra and Dolby Vision content from the blu-ray player without issues. Thought I would share if anyone has any ideas. I might swap the HDMI cable going to the Ultra just for good measure, hopefully it's not a bug in the new Ultra OS.Solved1.7KViews0likes5CommentsMultiple channels and screensaver crashes
Nov 1, 2024 Device type: Roku Ultra Serial number: X028000E7524 This one is a replacement from a 3 week RU that crashed... this new one here crashes also! It's like there's some kind of odd memory leak. They crash at the stupidest times too... MOSTLY from just exiting the screensaver OTHERS like a hard back to HOME from like YouTube or Streaming service. It is extremely ANNOYING! Where is the quality control Roku? I have a latest 80" Sony Brava TV that supports EVERYTHING. External Inputs are all setup properly to Dolby Vision. I have HDMI 2.1 that support the best in Dolby Vision. This problem is NOT on my end. PLZ fix your Firmware! Thanks1.6KViews1like6Comments
