Wi-Fi will not connect even though it’s working on phone and tablet

Turned on my Roku and it wasn’t connected to the Wi-Fi. Went to connect and my network isn’t even showing. Phone and computer are connected. Followed every step to try and connect it, still won’t connect. Roku is near the Wi-Fi so it should pick it up but doesn’t. Would appreciate help!

It would help to know what the model number of your Roku device is displayed under Settings->System->About.

Does it show other networks, but not yours?

Re: Wi-Fi will not connect even though it’s working on phone and tablet

As you may be aware, that's a 2.4GHz-only model. There have been cases of router firmware updates turning off the 2.4GHz band. So I would first check the router and make sure it is broadcasting 2.4GHz and that all modes b/g/n are enabled. (Some rokus seem to have issues with certain routers if they are only in g/n mode.)

Phones and computers usually do 2.4GHz, 5GHz, and maybe 6GHz, but lots of other devices only have 2.4GHz radios.

Banned but back. Because why not?

Thank you for the information. I checked and I probably will need to get a new Roku.

@R582The most common connectivity issue is channel congestion, so I'd recommend you install WiFi Analyzer for Android or something similar if you have an iPhone. Once installed, open the app and check to see how many others in your area use the same channel/band, then log into the router and switch to a channel with less congestion. Those that use service provider equipment should be aware that auto-select is the default setting for channels and is often a problem. Manually choosing channels while monitoring with the app, is by far the best. Re: 2.4 gHz, its a stronger signal but slower than 5 gHz though its plenty for UHD streaming. Hope that helps
