I tried but did not work for me. After I did that, the update went up to 56% and error 008 appeared.

Alex27, I would argue it did work for you, as it cleared your 004 error, but I can see why that isn't very satisfying.  If you run a search on "roku 008 error" you should find a short roku community chain on fixing 008, there is a solution that seems to be working for people, going to "recovery mode".  I can't vouch for it, as I haven't seen 008.  Good luck

You have a point, this is true. But it depends on which way I try to update. When I go through setting Error 004 and through Secret Screen, error 008 appears. Any hint would be really valuable.
