Hello, I made a thread in July (about this) with the issue NOT being resolved! I keep having to restart the TV just like the other members. I also recently got a new router, and the problem still exists, the router is not far from the TV. I have other Roku TVs and devices that work fine without any connection issues. And Yes, the TV is up to date with the latest software. This is very annoying and it's got me thinking about getting another name-brand smart TV, because this has been going on for months.
Here is my tv information,
Roku Device Model- TCL Model 32S301-W
Serial Number- 2N003M025974
Device ID- AM4723025974
Software Version: 14.0.4 ( last update was 10/10/24
Tracker ID/Issue ID- 74-270-378
Internet service provider: Spectrum
Make and Model of the router: TP-Link AX13000 WiFi 6 Router
Have you tried hardwiring the TV with a network cable into the router and see if you have the same issue?
You indicated that you have a new router, have you checked to make sure you have the latest firmware for the router?
If it is a new model of router that was recently released, sometimes, there are issues with router stability until a couple of firmware versions work out the issues.
Also, you say it is close to the router, it is also remote possibility that it may be too close, and the strength of signal could cause interference.
Hi, I don't have a network cable. I have 3 Roku Devices, and out of those 3, only one loses connection out of nowhere. It was doing this when I had my other router a few months back and continued to now, it's doing the same thing with a new router, so it's not a router issue with the TV. I said it was close to the router meaning that the room is close to the next room where the router is, I have a Roku Express in the same room as the router and it never said "No Connection" My other Roku TV is even farther away from the router in the back of the house and it never shows "No connection" I also have a Wi-Fi extender in my house, so this is not a router issue at all. As soon as I restart the Tv it instantly connects to wifi and stays connected for hours. The "No connection" happens at random.
Thanks for the help though! I'm not the only person who has made a post about this issue.
Do you think if I factory reset the tv, this would help?
Try setting your WIFi to a different channel.
You could try that or try hard resetting both the TV and router and set both up as new. If you could get a network cable and try that and see if the Roku still has issues. Sometimes a hardwired connection will straighten out a wi-fi issue.
You could also try the other suggestion at using a different wi-fi channel as that frequency may be too crowded. I would suggest before doing that though is download a wi-fi analyzer app and scan to see if the network channel your router is using is too crowded. Most routers manage themselves, but sometimes that fail to do so, if a network got crowded after initial setup.
It is possible that it is a hardware/firmware issue of the Roku as Roku always is updating/changing the OS, so it is possible there is something going on there. There should be an upcoming firmware release coming soon, so that might fix it.
I have seen a similar issue with identical devices at my home that had no explanation either and I was sure it was something with the device too, only to figure out later that a router firmware update that was released sometime later fixed it. That seems to be a common issue with newer model routers.
Try disconnecting/unplugging your extender as sometime an extender can cause issue as well, as devices can struggle to figure out which network device it should connect to. If you have an area that is seeing both the router and extender and are too close together, that could potentially cause issues.
Wi-fi is a bit quirky sometimes as it is subject to interference and can be interfered with by various things in and outside the home.
