TCL ROKU TV does not automatically connect to WIFI without unplugging and plugging back in?

TCL ROKU TV does not automatically connect to WIFI without unplugging and plugging back in? Worked fine until a week or so ago. Now I have to completely unplug the TV and plug back in and then turn TV on and it works fine.  Was there a TCL/ROKU software update to cause this?

We appreciate you contacting us regarding your TCL Roku TV issues with connecting automatically to your WiFi network. We are pleased to assist you.

  • Can your other devices connect to the network without any issues or latency?
  • Did we recently make any changes to your network or network provider?

Troubleshooting steps

  1. Power cycle the Roku device for 30 seconds
  2. Restart the router
  3. You can perform a Network Connection Reset on your Roku device by navigating to settings >Advanced system settings > Network connection reset > Reset connection.

After the network reset, your Roku device will restart, and you will need to return to the Settings menu and set up your wireless network again. 

  • Note: Before doing make sure you know your WiFi credentials. 

You can connect your streaming device to a mobile hotspot as a temporary workaround to ensure there is no issue with your device.
