Roku tv wont connect to wifi

Jump to solution

My Roku tv has lost connection to wifi and wont reconnect. Wifi signal excellent. All other devices connected to wifi so not a wifi issue.

Tried all solutions in associated chats, total factory reset, reset router. Won't connect to mobile hotspot either. This looks like a tv issue not an internet/router issue.

Error message changed from 14.40 to 14.50. But still no connection.

What is an error 14.5 and how do I resolve this?

Hi @Ellapug12,

Thanks for keeping us posted, and welcome to the Roku Community!

We'll be more than happy to assist you further with this issue that you had with the Roku TV not connecting to Wi-Fi.

If you see error codes 14.40 or 14.41 this means your device is using the wrong password to connect to Wi-Fi. Verify your password is correct and re-enter it.

Error codes 009, 14, 14.10, 14.11, 14.30, 14.50, 14.62, and 14.64 means that your streaming device is unable to connect to the internet. Try the tips in the How to Fix Common Network Issues section to fix these connectivity errors.

  • Make sure you are using the right network and password. If you do not know the password, contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) or the person who set up your wireless network.
  • Check if other devices can connect to the same Wi-Fi® network. Test your internet connection using a phone, computer, or tablet that is connected to the same network. If your other device is not working, contact your ISP for further help.
  • Restart your Roku device. To restart your device, you can either unplug the power cable, wait a moment, and then reconnect it, or follow the steps below to restart your device from the Settings menu.
  • Restart your router. Refer to the steps below for instructions on restarting your modem or router.
  • Test your Wi-Fi signal. Learn how to improve your wireless connection.

Please try doing this and see if it helps with what you're experiencing.

All the best,
John

Error 14.4 means an incorrect wi-fi password.  14.5 means the device can't connect to your network.

Try having your Roku forget your network by deleting/forgetting it in your Roku device settings.  Then unplug your Roku for 30 seconds or so and afterwards try setting up your network on your Roku from scratch.

Hope that helps.
