Hi, @smilton1963
Greetings, and welcome to the Roku Community.
We're sorry to hear about the issue you've encountered, and we'd like to gather more information for us to assist better. May we know if you've already tried to restart your Roku device by navigating to Settings > System > Power (skip if no sub-menu) > System Restart?
Keep us posted.
All the best,
Kash
Good evening yes I have tried the system restart. Several times I went to the real cook community and tried all the different troubleshooting and it’s still not functioning. It keeps disconnecting from the Wi-Fi sometimes several times a day or every two days I had a Roko stick prior to September 1 when I bought this Roko stick as I think I stated earlier and I never had this issue when I turned on the TV, it automatically connected to Roku with this new Roku that I purchased on September 1. It doesn’t automatically connect I have to hit the home button and it connects and sometimes it doesn’t or sometimes it just disconnects by itself. That should’ve been my first clue that something was wrong with the Roku stick. And since it’s been over three months, I cannot get my money back from Walmart so if it continues with this problem, I’m gonna have to buy another one. I will not be buying it from Walmart. I will check with Best Buy. I’m gonna talk to the people there because quite frankly, I think this is a defective Roku stick because it’s just not working.
Hi @smilton1963,
Thanks for the response!
We're sorry for the inconvenience that it has caused. This is not what we aim for. Have you tried to connect to an alternative wireless network, such as a mobile hotspot, to see if you are still experiencing the same issue?
Please let us know how it goes this time.
All the best,
Chel
Hello I don’t think that’s gonna help the situation because the Wi-Fi works fine with my work computer it works fine with my iPad it’s definitely the Roku stick that is the only device that is disconnecting from the Wi-Fi. Also I had a Roko stick that I receive free from AT&T back in 2018 I had it from 2018 up to buying this current Roku stick on September 1 of 2023 and I never had an issue with the previous Roko stick same model stick that goes behind the TV so this is a defective Roko stick and I think what I’m going to have to do is go buy another one but like I said I will not be purchasing it from Walmart I’m gonna go have a conversation with someone in Best Buy and if it does the same thing when I purchase it from Best Buy will be taking it back instantly I just don’t have money just to be giving away I’ve basically lost $50 dollars
