Hello Roku users,
I just had this issue with not being able to connect my 3 Roku devices wirelessly on 2.4ghz. now I have 3 computers and 3 phones connecting to the 2.4 no issues, it is just the Roku Units that are not connecting.
I am tethered from a hot spot on 2 of the Roku' and it is working no issues. my ISP is Xfinity and I did the following so far:
1. Reboot Router.
2. Restart Roku'
3. checked the password and reentered 5 times.
Having looked at the guides I read all of them that pertained to my issue and nothing has helped. I believe on 2 of the devices I get the 14.30 error. now I checked to see what it is and it states I am unable to connect.
I am unsure why therokus can connect to my hotspot but notto the Wireless 2,4 router? I am literlly 10-12feet from my roku from the Router. not sure but is was there a recent Roku update and maybe it is causing this issue??
if you need more info please let me know.
Hey Roku users,
I figured out what the issue was. the security mode on the wireless was set too WPA3 I set it too WPA2 and voila it connected right away..
So check your Security mode and make sure it is on WPA 2.. thnx all 😉
Make sure the wireless mode in your Xfinity router is set to b/g/n and not g/n. ISPs have a habit of changing settings in their customer's equipment.
Is the Roku devices g/n/ax? the one I have is a 4802x?

Currently, the only Roku devices that can use WPA3 security is the Roku Ultra 4850 and Roku-branded RokuTVs. (these are wifi6 devices/tvs).
All other models of Roku are not wifi6 capable, so cannot use WPA3.
If you have some wifi6 devices on your network, you can set your security to WPA2/WPA3 and each device should use the appropriate protocol.

Yes I didn't think this was the issue but maybe xfinity changed it withan update as I had them working here for 2 years.. I thought an Roku update broke them..
But I seen what was wrong and once I changed the security back to WPA2 it worked like a charm.. maybe others here have a similar issue..
How do you change that?
I found it through my XFinity app and it says WPA2 already. I only have a choice of WPA2 and WPA/WPA2. Roku started to work after I unplugged/plugged back in my router, now it’s back to not working.
When you look under the 2.4ghz settings, do you see the b/g/n settings all enabled under the "wireless mode" mentioned by @renojim ?
Also, lets verify your device model number by going to Settings/System/About on your Roku device.
