Several similar posts, but none of the solutions have worked for me. Have reset the Roku, restarted the box, etc. Still keep getting the 14.40 error. Roku is about 3’ from the router. Every other device in the home will connect with the same password. Internet provider is Cox, if that helps. Would have bought an Amazon stick had I known what a hassle this is. Own several Roku devices, but apparently they offer no support. Any suggestions appreciated.
Have you tried the suggestions posted in this Support link: How to connect your Roku device to the internet using Wi-Fi or Ethernet? If yes and the issue persists, you can try configuring your router and use wireless channels 1, 6, or 11 which are the preferred channels in North America. Each time you change the wireless channel, you will likely need to apply/save changes before you are prompted to restart the router.
