I just bought a new 40 inch round tx. It shows good connection. But won't connect with password from gateway Verizon
Hi @1295,
Thank you for your first post here in the Roku Community!
We would like to gather more information and investigate thoroughly this issue that you had. Can you please provide the following details below?
We look forward to hearing from you soon.
Thanks,
John
Using Roku express 4000K
it connects to wifi but not internet when I enter password
getting red x but no other error codes
I restarted both roku player and the modem
modem is a TP-Link AC 1750 with both 2.4 and 5 bands. I'm in San Francisco.
Also, I tried the HOME button but it did not access "settings." It took me to the list of area networks.
Check the device list and/or access/denial block list on your router to make sure the device isn't accidently blocked from access.
Thanks. It looks like the ip address is not supported. It needs to be one of the following. When I enter it manually, the laptop and phone is not remembering the IP. So I'm whacking around with everything!
Roku devices are designed to be used with private network addresses.
10.0.0.0 to 10.255.255.255
172.16.0.0 to 172.31.255.255
192.168.0.0 to 192.168.255.255

If you setup your router to use LAN IP's within the above ranges, your Roku device should be able to connect.
If you are having trouble configuring router, post your router model number here as well as your Roku model number.
Otherwise, easiest way may be to to perform a Factory Reset on the router itself and it will likely generate a default private IP address pool for you. (this default will vary depending on manufacturer).
