Yes my WIFI signal is coming in strong on other devices, yet ROKU is picking it up as weak or not finding it at all.
Device is the older ROKU express.
I alway had it on before? It was working fine for last few year and always had. good signal
i never moved it at all, however last few days i went to use it and there was no signal, as i did all the trouble shooting you could consider on it, with no success
Suggestions please
Since you mentioned it is an older Express device, it is likely operating on the 2.4ghz band and may just be having some interference/channel congestion issues.
If physically moving the Express device around a bit does not help (reorienting), then I would try going into the router settings and manually changing the 2.4ghz "wireless channel". While channels 1, 6, and 11 are preferred, you may have to experiment a bit and see if a particular channel works better. (most routers use "auto selection" as default, but sometimes manually setting the channel will give you better results).
thanks so much, i just did a hard reset of my modem dSL and router as well
still no change on my ROKU
could this improve if i got a newer ROKU?
If your budget allows, then buying a newer Roku device like the Roku Express 4k+ (3941) that is dual-band (can operate on either the 2.4ghz band or 5ghz band) may help your issue as it will be newer hardware and can use the often less congested 5ghz band.
I always kind of hesitate saying a new device will solve an issue (especially a network issue), but I think with the reasonable price of $40, it is definitely worth a shot. If nothing else, you will definitely have a faster experience over your older player.
While the Roku Express 3960 is currently $30, for the extra $10 of the Express 4k+ (3941) you will get a better remote (Voice Remote), a more featured processor, and more memory which adds speed to the device.

ok great as i use a tube tv from 2001 do they nee rokus still have a setup that work with old tvs?
All the newer Roku devices require an HDMI connection at the TV.
You can certainly use an HDMI converter (HDMI to composite/AV) if you have the three cables, but you may want to look at a newer TV as well that has HDMI compatibility.
I regularly come across new and even used TVs in the $50 - $200 range because everyone has moved on to smart TVs. I prefer the older non-smart TVs (no smart OS pre-installed), and then just hook up a Roku device to them.
yes that is what i been using on my roku HDMI converter
