Not connected * for options

So I have an old Roku device that I have used before but I got new Wi-Fi today and found a different voice remote that's not ever been connected so I connect my WI-Fi to my TV plug in the Roku and it goes straight to a purple screen that says Roku home hands-free voices easy where I need to check it I understand box and then in the top right corner it says star for options not connected and that's as far as I can get can somebody help me please I know it should be easy fix hopefully I was thinking my Roku has a QR code on it that maybe I could hook up to my phone as a remote but that got me nowhere

Re: Not connected * for options

You can't use a phone to control a Roku unless they are both on the same network. You may need to do a factory reset on the Roku so it goes through the remote pairing and WiFi connect procedure. If you use the same Roku account, it will automatically reinstall all your apps. You may need to log back into them.

Also, since you mention it's an old Roku, what model is it? If you get it working, you can go to settings/system/about to get the model number. If it's too old, some apps may no longer work.
