Is a never-used Roku 3 too old to be supported ?

Jump to solution

I have a 10 year old Roku 3  never used (yes !) I am trying to now use it.  I get Error code 011 when setting up.  I get 3 green check marks to show good:  home wi-fi, internal network, internet.  I get a green check for internet, and it immediately flips to the Cannot connect error 011 screen to indicate it cannot get to the Roku software support server.

Roku too old ?  Rejected quickly ?

Hello! @brownide,

We appreciate your post in the Roku Community!

Thank you for contacting us regarding your older Roku 3 device. We truly appreciate your inquiry and are eager to assist you.

The device you are using can no longer support the most recent features. This means it will no longer receive new features or streaming channels, updates to existing channels, or other software-related updates.

This device has not been updated in many years, and you may need to purchase a new device. If you haven't already upgraded your device, you should have received an email with offers to buy a new player at a discounted price. Please check your inbox. We have sent you a private message to assist you further with your concern.

Thanks,
Arjiemar
