I got a message saying my Roku would no longer work?what does this mean?

My Roku says it’s out of date and no longer works. Does this mean my tv is too old or do I have to buy a new Roku. Or Both?

Re: I got a message saying my Roku would no longer work?what does this mean?

Was that the entire message?  Did the message come from some specific channel/app, or does it say that right on the Roku home screen?

What model of Roku is it?  (4-digit number please, since words like “Express” get used over and over.)

Banned but back. Because why not?

The answers to @Strega2 's questions would be helpful.  It probably said that it's no longer supported or will no longer be receiving updates.  It will keep on working, but more and more channels/apps will probably not be supported and newer ones can't be added.  You don't need a new TV, just a new Roku device.  Check your offers for a discount.
