I have no problems connecting my Roku player to the internet using the hotel/dorm connect method; however, my issue occurs when I try to reconnect the device (phone/tablet/laptop) back to the wifi it connected the Roku to this means I can EITHER connect my Roku and incur data charges when I use my device OR I can connect my device to the internet but not the Roku
Is it supposed to do this? How do I fix it if not?

Thanks for letting us know about your concern. It seems like you're having a network connectivity issue that is rooted in your ISP. Have you tried restarting your modem or router? Also, we recommend contacting your ISP directly and inquiring further about this issue for a workaround that should solve this.
