The Roku device I purchased in 2022 lasted less than a year and a half. It simply quit working.. blank screen. There was no option except unplug the unit and throw it away. I do not like to throw away electronic devices without exploring how to recycle them appropriately.
Based upon this failure in such a short time, I decided to look for alternatives. This led me to the decision that I will not purchase another Roku device, unless perhaps the company decides to address this planned obsolescence issue and provide options for proper recycling which is essential for the ecological issues that surround the disposable mindset that we all face, either now or later.
