Internet Outage Fries Roku Device?
A few days ago I was streaming with my Roku device, when I had an internet outage ( not a power outage). This lasted about an hour. When internet service was restored, my Roku could no longer connect to my network (TMobile). Yes, I have disconnected and restarted my modem, router, and Roku device. Yes, I have contacted TMobile. Yes, I have reset my Roku. All other computers and phones in the house are connecting just fine to the internet. Could a mere internet outage fry my Roku device?

Re: Internet Outage Fries Roku Device?
An outage can cause a surge in a network similar to an electrical outage. It is less likely than an electric outage, but yes it can happen. Some surge protectors have surge outlets to protect network lines and cable lines as well as electric plugs. If you haven't tried this, try unplugging the Roku, the modem, and router for 1 to 2 minutes, then plug modem back in, wait, then router, wait and finally the Roku. If that doesn't help, see if you can go into the Roku network settings and forget your network and try setting it up as if it was new. A last resort would be factory resetting.

Even factory resetting my Roku 4k did not fix my internet issue
